There are many different opinions as to how much water we should drink; however, there are two that most of us have heard about. 1) 8x8 rule – eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day (half gallon); and 2) Pounds to ounces – drink one-half to two-thirds of your weight in ounces. From a health perspective, there are many benefits to drinking water, the most obvious being it regulates the body temperature and keeps you hydrated. Some other benefits include increase in energy, promotes weight loss, flushes out toxins, improves skin complexion, carries nutrients and oxygen to cells, and lubricates joints. Drinking water also helps you think, focus, and remain alert. This is because the brain is mostly water. Who knew?
Admittedly, I do not drink enough water...YET. I say "yet" because I am increasing my daily water intake. My goal is one gallon a day. I will let you know when I reach my goal!
