Thoughts become our reality. Whether you believe in the Bible or not, the fact remains that what we focus on affects our mood and those who are around us. It dictates how our day and life goes. If we think about or dwell on positive things, it tends to make you smile. Dwell on negative things and you might get a migraine.
Is your glass half empty or half full? Do you choose to look at your blessings or regularly complain? As I write this, I am speaking to myself. I have been through a lot in my life. That’s not a complaint. Just a statement of fact. That said, I know firsthand that it is very easy to get caught up in the negative and focus on the hurtful, frustrating things.
I’ll share a secret with you that I hope you will find helpful. Several years ago, I remember crying so hard that it hurt. Broken and sad, I needed to refocus my mind. So, I began writing down all the good things that had happened in my life…my blessings. At first it was difficult, but then it began to flow. Before I knew it, I had an entire 8.5” x 11” notebook page filled with beautiful, positive things that had happened in my life. Every so often I read that paper and I can’t help but smile. Simply put, "focus on the beautiful things".
