Monica Lynn Sadler x Expression Fiber Arts
Designing this shawl pattern was a wonderful experience. Chandi, the Owner of Expression Fiber Arts, is an extremely talented dyer, with creativity for days.
Lily was designed with three gradient colors [Melody Dora Hues]. The Pearlescent yarn is soft and lightweight, featuring beautiful shades of pink and orange with a touch of yellow. It is reminiscent of vibrant flowers basking in the sun. The beauty of the yarn colors was inspiring, making this design rather effortless.
I am looking forward to more collaborations with Chandi as I find the time. In the meantime, I encourage you to grab a cup of your favorite beverage, buy the pattern and some yarn from Expression Fiber Arts and make one for yourself. You won't regret it!
Excerpt from the pattern:
Tending the rock garden full of dark, almost black soil, my mother and I planted many flowers, each one with its own vibrant, breathtaking hue. The warm, bright rays of the sun enhanced their colors as they sway in the gentle breeze. This floral shawl design awakens these childhood memories. The silky softness of the Pearlescent yarn as it glides through my fingers, reminds me of the softness of the flower petals I touched when my mother was not looking. The open Lily floral pattern uses a simple, yet elegant, patterned combination of chain, single, and treble crochet stitches. The trio of colorful, gradient hues are separated and grounded by parallel rows of treble crochet that is reminiscent of the stems of each flower.
